How to clean cushions
Life’s simplest pleasures can also be the messiest. Coffee, pets, ice cream, rain, sun, or the neighbor’s tree can pose as a threatening force against your custom cushions or custom pillows. We can’t control the weather, but we can equip you with the latest tips and tricks to keep your custom cushions lasting as long as possible.
The best way to keep a clean cushion all year around is to make sure you have the right cleaning supplies on hand. We recommend a mild detergent, bucket, a sponge, and a handheld vacuum. Keeping these items on hand will give you a peace of mind to know whatever the day might bring you are prepared to attack any stain that may arise.
The handheld vacuum is our favorite way to clean Cushion Pros cushions when it comes to leaves, dirt, or debris. The nozzle at the end of the equipment is perfect for those hard-to-reach corners and seams. If a spill happens, it is best to dab the liquid up as quickly as possible to remove the possibility of the stain setting into the fabric. Fill up your bucket with warm water mixed with the mild detergent to remove most any stain, every time. If you have chosen one of our many Sunbrella fabrics, you can add up to one cup of bleach to your bucket mixture. This cleaning concoction is great for oils, sunscreen, grease, mold, mildew, or any other tough stains that may come your way.
How to care for cushions
If you are looking to rejuvenate your cushions, we recommend a thorough cleaning of your custom cushions at least once a year. This deep cleaning will give your cushions the needed refresh you were looking for. A detailed examination and cleaning of your Cushion Pros products will extend the shelf life to enjoy for years to come.
To avoid discoloration of the fabric on your custom cushions and custom toss pillows, we recommend flipping your cushions and pillows over, season to season. This will ensure minimal sun damage and will keep your cushions fresher, longer. For more cleaning hacks and how- to’s follow Cushion Pros on social media @cushion_pros.
